Since the 2010-2011 NBA season schedule was released during the summer, the game that immediately turned all heads was the Christmas Day mega showdown between the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers and the revamped Miami Heat. While the Lakers certainly look to rectify the embarrassment of last year’s Christmas game against LeBron James, this year’s contest will also feature an epic battle of kicks.
Kobe Bryant will grace the Staples Center floor in the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘Christmas’, but LeBron will look to steal a few glances of his own in this Nike LeBron 8 V2 ‘Christmas’ we see here. This model comes decked out with a blend of high-quality materials and color blocking. The festive red upper is composed of Nike’s still relatively new Torch mesh and Flywire. The Flywire panels themselves offer a bit of color contrast with wires in white and green to complement the green laces and black paint-speckled midsole. The lion head hiding behind the Torch mesh on the tongue almost provides a sort of illusion-type effect. The outsole, which is red and white has a lion stamp in the middle as well.
