McFly Nike Air Mag Opening Portal to the Future

There is actually no real way I can convey my excitement over Nike’s latest sneaker campaign.  If you consider yourself any kind of movie aficionado, you have to have watched the Back to the Future trilogy and have a measure of appreciation for the films.  As someone who loves time related period movies, needless to say, I have always been enthralled by the second of the three films in particular.  How can anyone forget the ending line from the first movie when Doc Brown says, “Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.”  Talk about a cliff-hanger.

For all sneakerheads, the Nike kicks that Michael J. Fox’s character, Marty McFly, straps on upon arriving in the future were undoubtedly a mega treat to behold.  As soon as Marty inserted his feet into the boot, the laces automatically locked down onto his feet and the NIKE logo lit up on the upper strap.  SICK.  Watching that as a youngin, I always fantasized and dreamed about the day that those kicks would become a real-world luxury one day.  Well, as it turns out, that day is finally upon us.

The web has been flooded all day with electric anticipation over the announcement that Nike will at long last, be revealing the Nike Air Mag ‘Marty McFly’ sneaker tomorrow at a special event in Los Angeles!  To make things even more saucy, Michael J. Fox will be making a special impromptu (or was it ever?) appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman tonight (11:30 PM EST).

Whether or not he’s necessarily going to promote the unveiling of these insanely hot kicks will be something find out later when the show airs, but knowing Nike’s ingenious marketing tactics, it’s not hard to figure out what the motive is.

The Nike Air Mag ‘Marty McFly’ will be sold through special eBay auctions and only 1500 pairs will be put up for purchase.  All proceeds will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, which no one should dare argue or clamor about.  The exclusive auction release of these kicks is a terrific way to aid the fight against one of the most debilitating illnesses in our world.  Stay tuned for more info about these sneakers that will revolutionize the entire industry!

*The eBay auction begins tonight at nikemag.eBay.com starting at 11:30 PM EST!  You can track the progress of the auctions just by clicking to them from here!
