Barack Obama Gifted Jordan Spiz’ikes by Spike Lee

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a First Shoe, and it’s a Jordan.

Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America, was gifted a brand new pair of Jordan Spiz’ikes last night in New York City care of Spike Lee (aka Mars Blackmon).

The Nikes we’ve seen before.  The Jordan Spiz’ike “Bordeax” is a widely acclaimed hybrid sneaker with a colorway that pays tribute to Michael Jordan’s stints in North Carolina and Chicago.  The President, a huge Chicago and MJ fan, looked pleased.  This particular pair was a little different by way of packaging, coming in a beautiful stained wooden box with a hand carved presidential seal and His Airness’ number 23.

While lauded in the world of sneaker-heads, the shoes are certainly loud by conventional standards, and Spike spent some time on Twitter defending his creation.  We have to agree with Mars on this one.

As always, we’ll keep you posted on any future updates and release info @kicksologists or on Facebook.
