The Hyperdunk 2011 has been announced as the third entry to Nike Basketballs ultra-premium Elite series. As we get closer to the NBA postseason, Hyperdunk frequenters such as Blake Griffin and Pau Gasol may rock this new and improved model composed of new-age materials.
Like the Elite versions of the LeBron 9 and Zoom Kobe VII, the Hyperdunk 2011 Elite will be released in both Home and Away colorways. Zoom Air remains to cushion in the heel and forefoot, but the upper construction has been retooled. Like other entries into the Elite series, this sneaker also incorporates Nike Pro Combat padding on the tongue and collar for supreme comfort and fit. Nike has also redone the heel by adding an external carbon fiber heel cup providing extra stability.
The Home edition has an all white base, with hints of Metallic Gold on the Swoosh, Flywire strands, tongue, and the pivot point on the translucent tinted outsole.
The Away edition is dominated by a black upper with Metallic Gold contrasting beautifully on the Swoosh, tongue, and Flywire.
The Away will launch on May 20, 2012 while the Home drops April 20, 2012. Both will retail for $200.00 USD.
