Since it’s original release in 1997, the Jordan XII is making a comeback this year starting with the release of the “Playoffs” and “Cool Grey” colorways.

The Air Jordan XII is arguable one of the most iconic sneakers from the Air Jordan line, with Michael wearing it during his 1996-1997 season.  Although he lost the MVP trophy to Karl Malone that year, he won his fifth NBA title and Finals MVP while wearing the Air Jordan XII.

Also during this time, Nike launched a sub-brand of the company called Jordan Brand.  The Air Jordan XII became the first shoe to be added to the Jordan Brand collection with no Nike symbol to be seen aside from the packaging.

And so we have the latest retro-release from Jordan Brand, the Air Jordan Retro XII “Obsidian“.  Feast your eyes on the official images below

The Air Jordan Retro XII “Obsidian” drops 06/23/2012 for $160.00 USD.

As always, we’ll keep you posted on any future updates and release info @kicksologists or on Facebook.

Care of Jordan Brand.
