To be a professional athlete is quite an accomplishment, one that most of us will never get to accomplish. However, to be of the best of all time in a particular sport is legendary. Jerry Rice is not only easily considered the greatest wide receiver of all-time, but the greatest football player to ever step out onto the field. Nike plans to pay homage to Rice by releasing the Free Trainer 5.0 NRG Jerry Rice colorway.
Rice experienced most of his success while he was a member of the San Francisco 49ers, so it makes sense that colorway is composed of the 49ers team colors. The upper is composed of red and gold that blend together well. The misdole is white and sits atop a gum rubber outsole. The Nike Swoosh is black and the the eyelets are also black with a bit of gold on them.

Nike also put all of Rice’s accomplishments in the insole, just as a reminder of his greatness. Nike surprised everyone by randomely releasing them to the public today. They retail for $110 and are available at Nike.com
