History

In the 2006-2007 NBA Season the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James were ready to bring home a championship trophy. LeBron, starting his fifth season, was arguably one of the best players in the league already and was looking add to his legacy. During this season, LeBron James was averaging a remarkable 31.0 points, 7.4 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game.

With these numbers that LeBron was putting up, he was able to lead his team to the NBA Playoffs again. Not only was he leading his team, but he also made his teammates better around him from the previous year. This season, the Cleveland Cavaliers were a lot stronger.

In the first round, the Cavaliers faced the Washington Wizards. They were able to put them away by sweeping them four games to two. In the second round, the Cavaliers faced the New Jersey Nets. This series was not as easy as the first round, but the Cavs were able to pull through and win four games to two, advancing to the next round. In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Cavs faced the number one seeded team, the Detroit Pistons. It was a difficult series but the Cavs were favored to win it this year. The Cavs were able to show their experience and pulled through with the victory in game six, winning the series four games to two.

It got down to the NBA Championship, were the Cleveland Cavaliers faced a very solid San Antonio Spurs team. Although the Cavs had LeBron, he was not enough to stop the fundamentally sound Spurs. The Cavs were swept and did not end their season on a good note. It was unfortunate for the Cavs and James, but they had to get better and learn from their mistakes for the next season.
