adidas is the most prominent brand in soccer, as for basketball; they will continue to refuse to settle for second place behind Nike. With the pursuit of Kevin Durant and the emergence of Stephen Curry, Under Armour has put on the pressure. Consequently adidas has stepped up with expanding their basketball brand globally. As we all know, Derrick Rose is their most prominent superstar but having exciting players like John Wall and Damien Lillard definitely help their brand. This week, the three stripes and the Washington Wizards point guard will head overseas to Asia to interact and see his fans. This trip is called the John Wall Take on Summer Tour.

On August 19th, John Wall first visited Beijing and The Great Wall in China. Ironic that Mr. Wall visited the Great Wall, isn’t it? There will also be stops in Japan and South Korea on the Summer Tour which will end August 28th. With a court directly built on the Great Wall of China, Wall’s fans came to see the superstar as well as participate in a dunk contest and three-point contest. The grand prize for the winners of the competition is a John Wall autographed pair of Florist City Collection Crazy 1 shoes.

Asian basketball fans love when the NBA superstars come to their country. After all the NBA is the pinnacle of professional sports. It’s a great idea for adidas to market their young stars to countries like China and its large population.
