Anta Shoes Causing Problems For NBA’s Parsons & Thompson

The Dallas Mavericks have been horribly slumping as of late in the ultra competitive Western Conference, but we’ll save that discussion for another day. The Mavs looked to get back to their consistent winning ways with Chandler Parsons returning to the lineup. Apparently his seven game absence was due to an ankle injury which may have been caused by his kicks.  The detail oriented sneaker fans may have noticed that Parsons wasn’t rocking his signature Anta kicks but Parsons was sporting in the Venom Green pair of Jordan Xs for its stiff upper.

From ESPN Dallas, Anta is looking to repair the mishap:

“I just am trying to figure out if it was one of the shoes that I was wearing that bothered me,” Parsons told ESPNDallas.com. “I just wanted to fix them and make them stiffer.

“The injury that I had, [Mavs athletic trainer Casey Smith] was telling me how [the Anta shoes] were a little too flexible in the ankle, so I guess they said Jordan Brand had a stiffer shoe. In the meantime, I blacked out the logo and am trying to wear those until my new shoe is out.

Parsons met with Anta representatives during the Mavs’ trip to Portland, Oregon, at the beginning of their three-game road trip. The company agreed to alter his shoes to meet specifications suggested by Smith.

“They’re going to fix my shoe and hopefully send it back soon so I can get back in Anta,” Parsons said.

Parsons suffered the sprain and bone bruise when he landed after grabbing a rebound in the Feb. 20 win over the Houston Rockets. However, his left ankle started bothering him before the All-Star break.

Klay Thompson of the Golden State announced his new deal with Anta over the All-Star break. Unfortunately,  Thompson was spotted in his Nike Hyperdunks lately too. He also blacked out the Nike Swoosh in respects of his contract as the KT Fire was sent back to the drawing tables to be altered and fitted for the sharpshooter. As the rise of foreign sport brands continue, they’ll need to quickly end this trend. With more complications and injuries, fans will mistrust and avoid the brand causing their rise to be short-lived.
