March Madness is upon us and the Big Dance is quickly approaching. While teams are concluding their season or making a late push to earn their spot, the UConn Men’s Basketball team is showing off their new Kobe kicks at the American Athletic Conference tournament. A few players from UConn was spotted sporting the Kobe X in a “USA-esque” color way. It should be noted that UConn is a Nike sponsored school, the kicks may be Nike iDs or PEs.
A white textile upper is matched with blue color blocking and hints of red, most noticeably on the outsole. These would make the USA National team proud. We must admit these look a lot like our early renditions of a Kobe X USA colorway created off Nike iD. Would you rather have the Villanova Kobe Xs? With this, we’re certain more colorways will come with the tournament approaching. UConn will look to defend their crown and repeat as the National Champions.
