Nike Kobe X Elite “Team” | New Photos

Despite a sidelined Kobe Bryant and another season without the NBA Playoffs, Nike Basketball still managed to get a post season shoe out for the Mamba.  Not too long ago, Nike debuted the Elite pack for the post season that are set to release in the next couple months.  The first series will drop next month in April in this “Team Elite” set that includes this “Chaos” esque colorway for the Kobe X.

Here we have new images of the Kobe X Elite.  You have a large 3M swoosh on both medial and lateral sides adding a nice touch.  Purple and white combination on the upper while a white midsole and volt translucent sole finishes the look.  Pretty simple set of colors, yet it pops.

The obvious difference is that the Elite offers a high-cut proprioceptive collar with a full on Flyknit upper.  I would assume that the majority of hoopers and sneakerheads prefer Flyknit over the oh so painful (in my opinion) textile weave upper that is offered in the regular Kobe X low-cut model.  Last year, the Flyknit was backed with glue and fuse that addded support for basketball.  Flyknit is mainly used for running for Nike as the upper won’t hold very well on court.  It’ll be interesting to see what type of Flyknit and fuse combination they use this time around.  Nike used a different woven pattern on this that I personally did not like at first.  Waiting to see them in person before I judge.  But the pictures got me really stoked.  I am looking forward to this model as the cushion on the Kobe X is exceptional, including the traction.

Check out the latest images below that showcase the box as well.  The “Team Elite” Kobe X will be released next month, April 17th for $225.00 USD.  Stay tuned here for more info and the latest Kobe news.
