As we know Nike reigns as the athletic gear giant in Oregon. adidas has set up shop out there, but they now have more competition as Under Armour sneaks into the neighborhoods of Oregon. Matthew Kish of BizJournals has reported that Under Armour will be leasing a former YMCA facility and will be moving in by next year after renovations. The facility comes in at 70,000 square feet which includes the old YMCA features so you know there will be work out space, swimming pools and basketball courts. With this power move of walking to the doorsteps of Nike and adidas, UA is incredibly confident and excited to make the expansion happen. (Read full BizJournals article here)
In recent times Under Armour has made great strides in competing with the likes of the other brands. Right now their biggest star, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is in the running and likely to win the NBA 2014-2015 league MVP. Under Armour seems like they’re in a good place right now so as Kicksologists it will be interesting to continually watch their exponential growth.
