The Japanese streetwear brand BAPE is no stranger to sneaker collaborations. Their catalog has a few things from adidas and Reebok. With recent trends of runners being one of the top sneakers in any wardrobe, it’s a no-brainer to collaborate with one of the top brands for runners. BAPE and Asics have collaborated on the Asics Gel Lyte V model.

If you are familiar with BAPE you’d be surprised at the color scheme of the sneaker they decided to go on. Usually BAPE you’re used to seeing the iconic green and brown BAPE camouflage or even one of the bright color camo. For this particular project they went south and picked black, white and grey. The camo is in the usual neoprene material covering the upper of the sneaker, while contrasting it with black suede for the remainder of the panels. You can see on the sneaker that the midsole is also covered in the bathing ape camo. 3m is featured on the Asics logo as well as the heel of the kicks giving that extra pop.

These shoes are so far only in samples and so no word of a release date or if they’re even going to be a public release just yet. Stay tuned here at Kicksologists to stay up to date with this awesome collaboration.
