Nike Drew League Championship Kicks & Recap

The Los Angeles basketball scene is highlighted by the Drew League. As one of the top Pro-Am leagues in the world, you never know who will come through and lace up. The Drew League concluded its 13 week journey with a matchup of NBA superstars. James Harden and Pooh Jeter held it down for LAUNFD. On the other side, Nick Young and DeMar DeRozan laced up for M.H.P.

Unwilling to lose, Harden decided to score and dropped 37 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. In his previous game against Klay Thompson, he dropped a line closer to a triple double with 15, 9, and 9. LAUNFD walked away with the trophy and defeated M.H.P with a score of 98-93.

Now that we got the event out of the way, peep the dunk and kicks from the players. DeRozan rose up and grabbed the alley-oop pass to flush it down on “The Beard”

Speaking of DeRozan, he was seen in an all white pair of NikeiD Kobe X. Looking like the clean Fundamental colorway that dropped in May, these didn’t have the black Swoosh nor did they have the accents. Kustoo was able to grab a great look of the sneakers:

DeMar’s running mate, Nick “Swaggy P” Young has been seen in Kobe Xs through the season but finished in the Kyrie 1s. In the semi-finals, he wore the “Letterman” Kyrie 1s and donned the Independence Day Kyrie 1s to the Finals.

Thanks to Kustoo once again, Harden was seen in the Zoom Run the One on Saturday. Like we’ve mentioned, Harden has practically been the signature face behind the ZRTO and the Hyperchase. With his deal looming with adidas, it’ll be interesting to see if Nike will match or offer something large enough to keep Harden in the Swoosh. Keep in mind, the Drew League is a Nike sponsored event.

The gym was electric and the atmosphere was on point. With a tight and intense matchup, the fans got exactly what they wanted. Now that the Drew has concluded, and the NBA is on hold, it’ll be baseball until the NFL begins. The NBA can’t come back soon enough.
