I’m not too keen on what the inspiration was behind the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘USC’ edition kicks, but for whatever reason, Nike decided to supply the Trojans’ basketball team with this sleek colorway.
The setup on these kicks is rather concise and quick to the point. Nearly the entire upper is drenched in Cardinal red with gold and white accents. As you can also see, the forefoot and toe cap skin layers are patterned with an iridescent snake skin design.
USC’s Men’s basketball program spent much of the 2010 season mired in controversy surrounding alleged NCAA violations involving O.J. Mayo and with the sudden departure of head coach Tim Floyd, the Trojans are in a phase of rebuilding and restructuring. It remains to be seen whether or not they will be able to pick up the chips and get back to the upper echelon of the Pac-10.
