The Nike Foamposite sneaker, especially once Penny Hardaway began endorsing the product, became one of the most popular basketball shoes ever created by Nike. All things considered, that’s saying something.
Even with the positive track record for the Foamposite, it’s not necessarily always a good idea to combine two great pairs of kicks to spawn another classic shoe, but never one to be afraid, Nike has gone to work. Coming at us this weekend is the Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite, which literally looks like the AF1 skin-wrapped in the Foamposite’s signature upper material.
Possessing a smooth polished silver finish, the upper of the shoe is actually quite well-crafted. The eyestay, tongue, laces and inner are all dressed in clean black. The ankle collar appears to have plush padding with a strap to boot and to ease entry, we can also see a generous heel tab sitting right above the “NIKE AIR” logo. The most ostentacious part of the shoe is definitely the clear ice blue outsole that offers a peep show at the black midsole enclosed within.
The Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite will be released this Saturday, August 14, 2010 at House of Hoops stores and a limited number of Foot Lockers exclusively in NYC. I’m personally undecided on these kicks. They’re nice to stare at for a bit without a doubt, but I don’t think I’d be able to wear these too many times. Just my personal taste, but if these fit yours, more power to you. That’s what loving kicks is all about.
