No Refill Needed: Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Ink’

Nike Zoom Kobe V 'Ink'

As the adage goes, “all good things must come to an end,” with shoe colorway releases being no exception.   Serving as one of the final colorways of the Nike Zoom Kobe V, the ‘Ink’ edition is slated to create long lines and dent a lot of holiday spending budgets in the coming months.  While it’s bittersweet to know that the KB V will soon become a sneaker of the past, it’s going to be fun to see how Nike will play around with the Nike Zoom Kobe VI.

The ‘Ink’ colorway really stands out in the series and that’s saying something.  The upper makes good use of combining a glossy and matte finish, painted by a deep, dark purple ‘Ink’.  Black accents make its way onto the shoe through the inner lining, laces, midsole and Swoosh border.  The Swoosh itself is metallic silver as is the Sheath logo.  And as I’ve said before, I always love the sleek translucent outsole on any of the Kobe V colorways as it even provides a higher level of traction on the court.

Of course, Nike being the sneaky marketing genius that it is, has saved the ‘Ink’ colorway for a holiday release later this November.  What’s cool about the ZKB V series though is that any colorway that has been released in-store (all but one), has always been the same standard retail price of $130, regardless of hype.  Now I know full well that $130 is a ridiculous amount of money to drop on a pair of kicks these days, but hey, if you love ’em, you just have to make the appropriate sacrifices.

How will you squeeze the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Ink’ colorway into your holiday shopping?
