5 Rings: Nike Zoom Kobe V for 5 Titles Tribute

Nike Zoom Kobe V '5 Rings'

Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers officially commence with their repeat title defense next Tuesday night on October 26th against the Houston Rockets at the Staples Center.  Prior to tip off, the defending champs will receive their new rings, which are sure to be stacked and laced with the highest quality diamonds and gold the jewelry world has to offer, but Nike has already done their due diligence in paying tribute to the Mamba through the Nike Zoom Kobe V by creating this ostentatiously sick ‘5 Rings’ colorway.

The cool blue upper is decked out with text variations of “5” and “Five”, obviously in conjunction with Kobe’s five rings.  We also see yellow accents on the forefoot and midfoot panel text along with the Swoosh.  The midsole has a gradient airbrush transition finish from yellow to cool blue going front to back while the icy clear outsole provides the finishing touch.  With close to nothing in the way of official release information out there regarding this ‘5 Rings’ colorway of the Kobe V, if this is indeed the final released colorway, what a way to close out one of Nike’s most lucrative basketball sneakers of all time.

We will certainly keep you posted on the official release date for this edition, but it really shouldn’t come as a surprise if this colorway is let loose very soon during the holiday chaos.  Where would you rank this colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe V?

*UPDATE: The Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘5 Rings’ colorway will drop as a quickstrike release tomorrow, October 27, 2010 at Niketown!  You can also find some below!
