Nike LeBron VIII in the King’s Return to Cleveland

New team, same old Bron.

In the most anticipated return of a player to his former team’s city, LeBron James didn’t flinch and inch last night, scoring 38 points on 15-25 from the field in three quarters, with a furious flurry of 24 points in the third stanza alone. Never before has there been so much hype and concern surrounding an NBA regular season game.  Obviously, the circumstances were set way back in July when “The Decision” garnered so much negative attention and reaction, as LeBron let the world know that he would be bolting Cleveland for South Beach to play with close friends Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

In his return to his former court, King James chose to rock the Nike LeBron VIII constructed of an all black upper and sole with a simple white Swoosh, one of the most classic color block schemes around.  Perhaps he wanted to convey the sense that he was keeping things as simple and controlled as possible.  LeBron certainly looked fully in command of his game last night as he absolutely killed the now, hapless Cleveland Cavaliers, reminding us all of something that may have been forgotten amid all of the criticism he’s endured.

The man is simply a beast on the court.

Don’t get me wrong, I was on the LBJ Hater Ship full force when “The Decision” was aired, but at the same time, I’ve never been someone who ever wants to or likes to judge people.  Granted, LeBron is a mega superstar that I will more than likely never know personally, but that’s precisely the point.  The majority of us basketball fans will never ever comprehend what it’s like to walk in the man’s shoes.  While I still disagree with how he went about everything, if LeBron continues to get hated on this much for years to come, we will all miss out on watching one of the most talented basketball players to have ever laced up a pair of kicks in the NBA.

I’d love to hear what y’all think about LeBron’s return to Cleveland and him as a player overall so please feel free to get some dialogue started in our comment box below!
