All Star Nike Zoom Kobe VI Takes Center Stage

Nike Zoom Kobe VI 'All-Star'

At this point, it’s kind of starting to seem like Nike enjoys pitting the sneakers of their three prime superstars up against each other.  On Christmas Day, it was the ‘Stoplight’ Pack.  Now, next month at All-Star weekend in Los Angeles, we will see the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘All-Star’ go head-to-head against the Nike LeBron 8 V2 ‘All-Star’ and surely, the Nike Zoom KD III ‘All-Star’, which has yet to be unveiled.

The Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘All-Star’ will dazzle the court with a fade-finish red and black upper.  The bright white Swoosh provides a nice touch of contrast to the overall color scale while black does its thing on the midsole and throughout much of the shoe.  The black external heel cap has a glossy metallic finish, adding to the aesthetic appeal and as you can see, the tongue and insoles make sure to let everyone know that this year’s All-Star bash is being held in the champion’s court, L.A.  The finishing touch is of course, the sleek, translucent outsole, now a trademark of Kobe’s signature kicks.

You’ve got to wonder though if Kobe will even play in this year’s All-Star game.  He missed last season’s huge stage at Cowboys Stadium due to the finger and he isn’t even practicing consistently this season so that he can rest his thrice-surgically repaired knee.  Being that this could quite possibly be the last time he has a chance to play in the All-Star game in his home city, I’d say we can definitely expect a Mamba show.

*UPDATE: The Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘All-Star’ will drop at select retailers throughout the country on Thursday, February 17, 2011!
