3D Hollywood Nike Zoom Kobe VI All Star Game Switch

Nike Zoom Kobe VI 'Hollywood'

As we all wait for the day when you can physically grab the food you see on 3D TV, I suppose kicks that pop out at you will suffice for now.  It was initially suspected that Kobe would actually wear the ‘All-Star’ colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI (Hmm, I wonder why anyone would think that…), but today, a new report surfaced claiming that he will actually be wearing the ‘3D’ ‘Hollywood’ edition *decked out in a 3D upper we see here.

It seems as though nearly every major motion picture released these days comes in both 3D and the more traditional 2D format. Basketball shoes in 3D though?  Now that is without question, a historical first.  The right shoe is equipped with a cyan-blue heel cap and Sheath while the left comes  those elements dressed in red.  The scale-riddled upper is draped in a special 3D anaglyph texture, which makes these kicks a far departure from anything we’ve seen attempted before.  Dark grey works the other areas of the shoe such as the tongue, midsole and inner lining while a creamy translucent outsole rests beneath the Innovation Kitchen madness.

It’s concepts and ideas like this that set Nike apart and in my opinion, light-years ahead of the competition.  The Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘3D’ ‘Hollywood’ is slated to drop sometime next month and of course, we’ll keep you all in the loop.  The shoes will also come with a pair of real 3D glasses (another first ever) in addition to the ones stitched onto the inside of the tongue so that we don’t miss a second of what Kobe’s feet are doing as they host NBA All-Star weekend 2011 *if they do indeed hit the court then.

*UPDATE: This very sick colorway will drop on February 11, 2011 as a part of the ‘Hollywood Pack’!
