As anyone who has an absolute obsession/addiction/illness with all things sneakers can attest to, the reality of the situation is that snagging a pair of new kicks that you want simply makes you feel better. Granted, it’s not the healthiest, most practical, or wallet-friendly method of therapy, it is what it is – an infatuation with shoes. So, I’ve decided to document some of the kicks that I allow myself to buy. My latest get, the HUF Hupper Black/White Canvas.
As I get older, I’ve noticed that my style and taste for kicks has inevitably evolved and taken on a few very specific faces. One of my hardy obsessions involve light skate shoes with vulcanized soles. I’ve bombed hills wearing the Nike Toki, which actually hug the board nicely and hold up very well during foot brakes. I had my eye on the HUF Hupper for quite some time and in a moment of calculated impulse (I know, oxymoron), I browsed around online and picked them up. I couldn’t be happier.
I’m a sucker for canvas kicks and these come in a variety of colorways and also in a suede or leather build. The black and white pair I picked up is pretty simple. The black canvas upper has a suede black “H” logo stitched onto the lateral and medial panels with a white vulcanized sole that has a black stripe running around the top. “HUF” is branded onto the tongue with black letters and white background and you get both black and white laces with the kicks. Again, this colorway is as mild as you can get, but I definitely like to have some practical pairs to rock whenever, wherever.
If you’re also a sucker for skate shoes with vulcanized soles, you’ll definitely want to give the HUF Hupper a look. They’re also a great alternative to the Converse All Star, which so many of us love, but it’s nice to switch it up once in a while. If you have any thoughts on these kicks, feel free to comment and share your thoughts!
