Draft Day Nike Zoom Kobe VI Origins Honored

Nike Zoom Kobe VI 'Draft Day'

Five rings, sixth all-time in scoring, two Finals MVP’s and four All-Star MVP’s later, Kobe Bryant has cemented his place in NBA history as one of the best players to ever orchestrate a symphony on hardwood floors around the world with the squeaks of his kicks and swishing of the twine.  While the Los Angeles Lakers are the only team he’s ever known, it was the then, Charlotte Hornets who picked Kobe with the 13th pick in the 1996 NBA Draft.

It’s been 15 great years of basketball magic performed by the Mamba and as with all things, it’s always important to pay respect to origins.  Nike has had fun with this theme when it comes to Kobe’s kicks and as with the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Draft Day’ last year, we’ve got an homage colorway with the Nike Zoom Kobe VI.  Orion Blue splashes the heel cap and midsole while Chlorine Blue paints the inner lining.  White envelops the upper as purple takes over the Swoosh, Sheath and laces.  Lastly, black offers some nice contrast through the heel and tongue.

Look for the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘Draft Day’ to drop on May 26, 2011 ahead of Memorial Day.  For now, check the other colorways below! How do you like this tribute colorway?
