Nike Total Griffey Max ’99 – Black/Black-Zen Grey-Varsity Red

Even though I spend the majority of my time writing about basketball I’m a baseball fan at heart. That is one of the reasons I was so excited when I woke up this morning and saw a pair of shoes linked to former Seattle Mariners legend Ken Griffey Jr.

Now, returning to the shelves is the Nike Total Griffey Max ’99. These were Jr.’s last signature shoes released before he left Seattle for the Cincinnati Reds. They look like shoes that were designed in the 90’s as well. They’re a bit chunky and wide, and have a Varsity Red full-length Max Air bag and black rubber outsole to finish off the look.

But, my personal favorite part of these kicks? The silhouette of Jr. with that signature swing of his on the bottom of the shoe. Priceless.
