Kobe Bryant surpassed Michael Jordan on the NBA all-time scoring list by shooting two free throws for his 32,292th career points. As with all special moments, Nike Basketball made sure to lace up the Mamba with his own pair of Kobe 9’s that is dedicated to that special moment of surpassing his idol, MJ.
“I’m just honored to be here, man, to still be playing,” Bryant said. “I appreciate being able to play this long. Careers normally don’t last this long. I really appreciate the opportunity to still be out there playing and performing and doing what I do.”
Growing up, Kobe idolized the legend and it’ll be quite a while until we see another NBA player that hold the same DNA as #23 and #24. Anyways, Nike could have easily done their own colorway for Kobe Bryant to wear on court during this historic event, yet they had him iD his own pair for him to wear.
