Last week, we saw the emergence of the Purple Tape versions of the Diadora N9000. As a collaboration with Packer Shoes, they chose to honor and celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… album. The shoes are inspired by the purple cassette tape, you know those square things before CDs. In 1995, the tape dropped and a classic was created.

The “Purple Tape” will release on August 20 exclusively at S.O.B.’s in New York. Raekwon will seal the deal with a concert too. In case you were wondering about the quality, these will be produced in Italy. The details are pretty mesmerizing. Both heels will feature a number signifying the sides of the cassette. In the shoes, each insole has a track listing of the songs on that side.
