Nike Basketball may have their best release in years in the next coming weeks, the Nike Kyrie 3 Bruce Lee.
Inspired by the iconic Nike Zoom Kobe 5 in 2010, this new Kyrie 3 model houses the same color blocking and execution that the original had. As you know, Kyrie Irving has idolized Kobe Bryant since his youth. He has adapted the Mamba Mentality that Bryant was well known for during career. That mentality has transcended throughout the league with the likes of John Wall, Isaiah Thomas, Devin Booker, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and now Kyrie Irving. If Kyrie didn’t have a signature shoe, he would definitely be part of Team Kobe and possibly represent the line on court.

Bruce Lee’s famous “Always be yourself. Express yourself. Have faith in yourself” quote has had a strong impact on both Kyrie Irving and Kobe Bryant. Lee’s philosophies have helped Bryant and Irving reach their highest potential both on and off the court. For Kyrie, mamba mentality first struck at the age of 17 when he laced up the Bruce Lee-inspired Zoom Kobe 5 at a Nike Extravaganza in California.
Celebrating the moment and his appreciation for Bryant and Lee, the theme is revisited with the new KYRIE 3 Mamba Mentality. A tour yellow and black colorway references the Zoom Kobe 5 and pays tribute to Lee’s trademark colors. Four red slash marks on the forefoot further connect to Lee.
Honoring the bond between Bryant and Irving, a metaphorical passing of the torch comes to life with a snakeskin-inspired pattern fading into a Kyrie-inspired samurai pattern. The tongue features the new Kyrobe logo, fusing together Bryant and Irving’s signature logos.
The Nike Kyrie 3 Bruce Lee Mamba Mentality is a long name for the sneaker, but the fans won’t mind. Featured throughout the shoe are features never been seen on a Kyrie model, let alone a Nike shoe ever. On the tongue, a “Kyrobe’ logo combines both Kyrie and Kobe’s signature Nike logos on the tongue. On the medial side, you have a Mamba like scale pattern similar to the Kobe 6. As you move towards the lateral side, a samurai like symbol is displayed. This is the same design as the Kyrie 3 Christmas pair as he shot another dagger against the Golden State Warriors for the win. Lastly, the color blocking of the model is almost identical to the Kobe 5 Bruce Lee. No other inception of the theme has been this close since 2010 so many are in arms on trying to secure a pair.
As of right now, the Nike Kyrie 3 Bruce Lee will release on Nike SNKR+ app for $120.00 USD on September 15, 2017 at 10:00AM EDT. Make sure you lock in and secure your pair that morning.
