Throughout this year, Nike has shown a lot of love to Michael Jordan’s alma matter, University of North Carolina. Most recently, they released the Air Jordan 11 “Win Like ‘82” commemorating Michael Jordan’s championship victory over the Georgetown Hoyas and their star center and legendary New York Knick, Patrick Ewing.
Releasing on December 2, 2017, Nike is planning on releasing a new Retro 6 model that again shows respect to MJ’s college career. This model is coated in a black nubuck, as well as university blue hits in the same locations as the Air Jordan 6 “Black Infrared”. The midsoles of the sneakers are back, with the soles of the shoe having the translucent panels that we have seen on this model for years.
Retail price on this model will be $190.00 USD, and are slated to be a general release. Don’t anticipate these selling out, as most retro Jordan Brand models this year have been sitting on shelves only to be discounted. Jordan Brand has recently been making headlines in the sneaker community by announcing that they will take a more limited approach in releasing their retro models in the future to enhance sales and scarcity.
