Nike SB is continuing to roll out different thematically charged designs and colorways for the Street Fighter Pack. Not too long ago, we took a look at the Nike SB Dunk Mid Pro ‘Street Fighter’ Ryu, but now, we get to break down the kicks built in the name of one of Street Fighter’s most notoriously loved characters, Akuma, through the Nike Zoom SB P-Rod IV High.
The dark navy blue canvas upper pays tribute to Akuma’s ki with black accents on the laces, midsole and Swoosh logo. The heel of the kicks feature the same red Kanji symbol that is on the back of his ki, stitched on for our viewing pleasure. If you want to get a glimpse of Akuma himself, look no further than the insoles of each shoe as they come stacked with a vicious black and white sketch of the devilish character. Lastly, these fresh kicks also come with alternate red laces if you want to change it up a bit.
Personally, I think Nike did a pretty nice job in conveying the essence of Akuma onto the Nike Zoom SB P-Rod IV High without overdoing it by building a messy, ferocious colorway. I can’t wait to see how Ken will be transposed onto a pair of Nike SB kicks!
