With the Los Angeles Lakers releasing their 2014-15 preseason schedules this week, we can only anticipate when Kobe Bryant will make his return to the hardwood court. After an intense first round of the NBA playoffs, the second round has lacked the absurd amount of excitement. Most recently, the Kobe 9 EM Laser Crimsons were released and were seen on DeMar Derozan’s feet in his series versus the Brooklyn Nets.
Preparing for the spring season, the Kobe 9 EM “Pop Art Camo” is ready for its release. From a concepts point of view, the shoes can be said to resemble the Kobe 8 Easter. They feature the colors: gold, purple, and baby blue in a stripe-like pattern across the Engineered Mesh. If you cannot recall, the Kobe 8 Easter also featured gold, purple, and a light green but they were infused one color at a time.
Sitting on top of a purple and black midsole, the colorway is flashy yet resembles the Lakers’ team colors. The signature 9 notches on the heel are displayed but this time in white. Rather than going with a baby blue or gold, the shoes feature a purple tongue and ankle collar to complete the colorway and gives it a modest look. The shoes will be releasing Saturday May 17,2014. Alike with the other Kobe 9 EMs, the retail price tag will be $160 USD.
