The Nike KD 8 will feature the lightweight textile upper known as Flyweave Technology which has been seen on the Jordan XX9, but will be the first for a Nike branded shoe. It will also be the frist with a full length Zoom Air Unit. Chang created a new and unique heel design for the KD8 that is inspired by a sabertooth’s fangs for lockdown and stability. The sabertooth is something KD has believed in hence the tattoo on the right leg.

From Nike’s official press release:

“When I first tested the KD8, I instantly loved the springy response of the Zoom Air combined with the natural feel of the Flyweave. I didn’t want to take it off,” said Durant, a six-time All-Star.

THe KD8 is already available to be personalized on NikeiD. The KD8 July 4th colorway is available on June 27 as the first offical colorway released and the KD8 V8 colorway is coming two weeks later, on July 11. The V8 colorway is based off of Durant’s custom matte red Camaro.
